Following a significant fire at a farm property, Geckops was appointed to undertake urgent works to make the site safe and to protect a neighbouring occupied dwelling.

Due to the extent of the fire damage, the project required a carefully managed approach to eliminate immediate risks while restoring structural integrity to key elements of the adjoining property.

The works included the installation of a full independent scaffold system, incorporating a chimney scaffold, to provide safe access across all affected areas.

At roof level, all fire-damaged and hazardous materials were carefully removed before structural reinstatement works were carried out. This included rebuilding the chimney serving the neighbouring property, as well as taking back and reinstating the gable verge of the existing stone flag roof.

To facilitate these works, the gable elevation wall of the neighbouring dwelling was dismantled and rebuilt to current standards.

Our structural and damp remedial works have successfully eliminated a significant health and safety risk to both the public and the neighbouring occupants. The property is now secure, structurally sound, and protected against future damp issues, ensuring many more years of safe and high-quality living conditions.
