Park Road Library & Classroom Conversion

Park Road School – Refurbishment Project

1st floor library conversion / classroom conversion

About – This refurbishment project had to be approved by local authority planning, building control and due to the history of the building also listed buildings consent was required, these professional services along with all trade works from conception to completions were fully managed by geckops, as with all schemes “one stop shop”.

This was a full multi trade refurbishment to meet the exacting requirements of our school client.

Works included a major demolition of many existing large walls to open up learning zones, new partition walls, new electrical circuitry, IT, LED wiring, Fire points and smoke alarms, False ceilings, Plastering and damp remedial works, joinery including fire doors and frames, plumbing to relocate radiators, new flooring and decorations throughout all areas.

The work took place during Covid 19, we met the needs of the client, as well as complying with working procedures to accommodate covid 19 and a mixed trade workforce. This scheme threw many unforeseen challenges at us which were all faced head on by the team and overcome very quickly to ensure that the new classrooms and large library / mixed learning space was available for the school teachers and students when they returned after the 6 week break.
